Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This page explains what personal information Bernice's Kitchen collects, why, and what you can do about it. Bernice's Kitchen is operated from Latvia (EU), so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies.
What we collect
- When you buy: your email address, so we can send your download link. Your payment and billing details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- When you ask for the free recipes: your email address, so we can send them to you.
- When you send a question: your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
- Technical logs: our web server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security, for a limited time.
Our site does not use cookies or advertising trackers. We count visits and button clicks anonymously, using a code that changes every day and can't identify you; IP addresses are not stored. The site also remembers your launch-price timer in your own browser's storage, which never leaves your device.
Why we use it (legal basis)
- To deliver what you bought and handle your questions (performing our contract with you).
- To send the free recipes you asked for, and occasional emails about Bernice's Kitchen only if you've agreed (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To keep records required for tax and accounting (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Only with the services needed to run the shop:
- Stripe: payment processing and tax calculation.
- Resend: sending our emails.
- DigitalOcean: hosting our website and order records.
Some of these providers process data outside the EU under standard safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as tax law requires. Free-recipe email addresses are kept until you ask us to remove them. Question messages are kept only as long as needed to help you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it. Send us a message through the question form. You also have the right to complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija) or your local data protection authority.
